• Initial appointment or online consultation based on photographs
• Discussion of your wishes and expectations and an individual assessment of your circumstances
• Assessment of the suitability of the procedure and the likely outcome
• Explanation of possible alternatives and risks

PREPARING FOR SURGERY OR A PROCEDURE

• Required medical checks or tests
• Recommended medication, diet and hygiene
• What to bring and when to arrive
• Physical preparation: moderate exercise supports recovery

ANAESTHESIA

• General or local anaesthesia will be used
• The decision is made following the consultation
• Before the procedure, you will be given a detailed explanation of what the surgery will involve

RECOVERY

• Swelling, bruising or a feeling of tightness may occur during the first few days – this is normal
• Dressings or special garments may be required
• Pain should be managed in accordance with the doctor’s instructions
• Physical exertion and sauna use should be avoided for a period of time
• You can usually return to work within a few days to a week

Should anything cause concern, take a photograph and send it to the clinic. The doctor will advise you on what to do next.

RISKS AND SIDE EFFECTS

• Common and less common symptoms include swelling, tenderness and bruising
• When to contact the clinic, for example in the event of severe pain, redness or discharge
• Infection or numbness may occur in very rare cases
• A repeat procedure or follow-up appointment may be arranged where necessary

BEFORE-AND-AFTER RESULTS

• The final result becomes apparent within two to three months
• Initial swelling and asymmetry are part of the healing process
• Follow-up photographs and an assessment may be arranged where necessary
