Vaginoplasty restores tone in the vaginal and pelvic floor muscles that has decreased following childbirth or as a result of ageing. This improves physical comfort and intimate wellbeing, as well as control and confidence.
Childbirth, ageing or anatomical characteristics can reduce vaginal muscle tone and cause the vaginal mucosa to loosen. This can cause physical discomfort, difficulties during intimacy and reduced confidence. The aim of vaginoplasty, or vaginal tightening, is to restore vaginal tone and strengthen the pelvic floor muscles, improving both physical comfort and intimate wellbeing. The procedure restores natural firmness and strengthens the muscles, supporting improved sensation and control. Suitability depends on age, previous childbirths and the condition of the tissues. In some cases, the doctor recommends a combined approach, such as correcting the appearance of the intimate area at the same time. During vaginoplasty, excess, loose vaginal mucosa is removed and the vaginal muscles are tightened. This restores natural vaginal tone and muscle strength. The procedure takes approximately 90 minutes and is performed under general anaesthesia. An overnight stay is not required, and the patient can go home on the same day. Sexual intercourse should be avoided for approximately six weeks after surgery, until the area has fully healed.

Vaginoplasty is performed under general anaesthesia. You can go home after a few hours.
Moderate swelling and soreness can occur after surgery and usually subside within a few days. You can return to work within five to seven days, depending on the nature of your work and the speed of recovery. The swelling gradually subsides, and the final result develops within one to two months.
Possible side effects include swelling, bruising, wound irritation and changes in sensation. Complications are rare, but all risks and the measures used to reduce them will be explained thoroughly during the consultation.
